I° : Présentation du Parc Naturel des Virunga
Le Parc National (naturel) des Virunga est le parc le plus ancien parc naturel d'Afrique, et se trouve dans la région des Grands Lacs, au Congo. Le nom du parc, "Virunga", signifie en Congolais "volcan". Le Parc Naturel National des Virunga peut donc également s'appeler le Parc Naturel National des Volcans, par traduction littérale.

II° : Les animaux dans le Parc Naturel des Virunga
Grâce à ses nombreux types paysagers, le Parc Naturel des Virunga possède une faune très variée ! En gros, la faune du Parc Naturel des Virunga c'est :

Parmi les 22 espèces de primates, nous pouvons trouver au Parc Naturel des Virunga 3 espèces de grands singes : le gorille des montagnes, des plaines de l'Est et le chimpanzé de l'Est ! Dans les diverses zones, le climat change. On ne va pas trouver certains animaux à certains endroits. C'est logique & normal.
Étudions certaines espèces :
- L'hippopotame : cet animal très territorial et dangereux, cependant herbivore, vit dans les marécages du Parc Naturel des Virunga. Il passe donc ses journées dans les lacs afin de se protéger du Soleil et de la chaleur. Les hippopotames sortent de l'eau à la nuit pour rejoindre leurs pâturages et manger de l'herbe. Comme vous le savez, croiser un hippopotame est dangereux car c'est un animal très territorial.

Comme dit précédemment, le Parc Naturel des Virunga est une importante source de pétrole. Les usines comme Total veulent en extraire et en extraient déjà une grande partie. Mais, l'extraction du pétrole pollue et détruit la forêt, l'eau et tue les habitants. C'est un grave problème donc pour les touristes et les pêcheurs, qui peuvent tomber malades ! Les routes construites afin de laisser passer les machines pour prélever le pétrole détruisent la forêt, et ouvrent le refuge des animaux (la forêt) aux braconniers !
Il faut donc agir pour sauver le Parc Naturel des Virunga et ses habitants ! Mobilisons-nous !
